Everyone is sick at home right now. That is, everyone but me...for now.
It's so tough when the kids are sick. You feel so terribly bad for them. It's especially tough when you are sick too and have to deal with them, help them, etc. The worst is at night when no one can really sleep because of being sick, being worried about those sick or just being awaken by those sick.
This is when, if you never realized it before, you do realize now that being a Stay-at-home (Work-at-home, teach-at-home, do-everything-at-home) Mom has got to be one of the toughest jobs out there. There is absolutely no calling in sick, no clocking in or out.
You do get the satisfaction of seeing how the kids develop into great people, how their eyes light up when they learn something new and show you.
Poor Sick K tells me earlier: "The very, very last thing i want to do is go out to Target right now. (It's about 50 degrees and raining hard). What I want: A hot shower. shave my legs, wash my hair, get all yummy-smelling. Turn on the heater and the electric blanket, drink tea and read in bed. Take a nap..."
I replied: "Instead, you end up going out on a cold rainy day, cleaning poo and snot, cooking for dogs."
K: "Ah well. Life is like that. Maybe I will get to do it later... Hey, you're not doing what you want to do either! How many people probably are, right this minute?
Lula is."
And this, right there, is why those parents, Mom or Dad, who sacrifice themselves to give their kids the best care and education possible by staying home with them, they have all my respect and admiration.
